According to the channel’s sources, the prime minister instructed an interagency team to compile allegations against Erdogan concerning his actions toward Turkey’s Kurdish population and Ankara’s alleged financing of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas. The channel noted that the instruction followed Erdogan’s statement that he intended to ask Interpol to issue an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. According to i24News, Israel could file the case with the Hague-based court on its own behalf or use another country as an intermediary. Neither Israel nor Turkey is a party to the Rome Statute, and neither recognizes the ICC’s jurisdiction. Netanyahu’s office has yet to comment on the claims.
