**New Beach Facilities Open at Lady’s Mile in Ypsonas**
Lady’s Mile beach in Ypsonas is set to enhance its visitor experience with the introduction of new sunbeds and umbrellas available to the public starting this Friday. The initiative aims to improve accessibility and comfort for all beachgoers, including those with mobility challenges.
Kourion Mayor Pantelis Georgiou announced the new facilities, emphasizing the beach's commitment to inclusivity. “The beach is accessible to everyone. We have also installed a special wheelchair and ramp, allowing people with mobility problems to enter the water,” he stated, highlighting the efforts made to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the beach.
The new sunbeds and umbrellas will be available for a rental fee of €2.50 each. However, individuals holding disability cards will have the opportunity to use these facilities free of charge, reflecting the municipality's dedication to supporting those with disabilities. Mayor Georgiou noted, “For the municipality, there is no restriction on what people can bring to the beach. We want to give citizens the opportunity to enjoy their summer by the sea.” This policy allows visitors the flexibility to bring their own beach equipment, should they prefer not to rent.
In addition to the new seating arrangements, the municipality is also addressing the need for sanitary facilities. Mayor Georgiou announced that mobile toilets would be installed next week, which will provide bathers with essential amenities without relying on nearby restaurants. This move is expected to enhance the overall convenience for visitors at Lady’s Mile.
The introduction of these facilities comes alongside existing services provided by local businesses operating along the beachfront, ensuring that visitors have a variety of options to enhance their beach experience.
As the summer season approaches, these improvements at Lady’s Mile beach are anticipated to attract more visitors, making it a more enjoyable and accessible destination for everyone.
