The inmate had reported a possible incident of sexual abuse. According to the ministry, the Central Prisons management activated the relevant protocol as soon as it became aware of the report and immediately began all required procedures. A forensic pathologist was called to the Central Prisons and examined the inmate. “The forensic examination found no evidence indicating sexual abuse,” the statement said. The Central Prisons management followed the required procedures, immediately informed the competent authorities and took all necessary action, prioritising the inmate’s protection and the full investigation of his report,” the statement concluded.
