**Over 3kg of Cocaine Seized in Police Raid**
In a significant drug bust, authorities seized a total of 3.23 kilogrammes of cocaine from the residence of a 36-year-old man during a police operation on Tuesday. The operation was conducted by the drug squad, known as Ykan, following extensive investigations and observations regarding the suspect's behavior.
The raid revealed a well-concealed stash of cocaine, which included two packages weighing 2.22 kilogrammes and 30 additional nylon packages that collectively weighed 977 grammes. Furthermore, officers discovered a separate package containing 31 grammes of cocaine. This meticulous operation underscores the effectiveness of the police's methodical approach to tackling drug-related crimes.
In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials confiscated several other items from the property. These included seven packages of firecrackers, approximately €4,000 in cash, a precision scale, and a firearm. The presence of these items raises concerns about the potential for further illegal activities beyond drug trafficking.
Authorities also found two motorcycles without registration plates and a car at the scene, both of which were seized as part of the investigation. The suspect was promptly arrested and taken into custody, where he will likely face serious charges related to drug possession and trafficking.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the police to combat drug-related issues in the region. As investigations continue, authorities are expected to delve deeper into the suspect's activities and any potential networks involved in the distribution of illegal substances.
This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges law enforcement faces in addressing drug trafficking and the importance of community vigilance in reporting suspicious activities.
