**Title: Pair Remanded in Nicosia Drug Case**
Two men, aged 51 and 47, have been remanded in custody for eight days as part of an ongoing drug investigation in Nicosia, according to police reports released on Wednesday.
The incident began on Tuesday when officers from the anti-drug squad, known as Ykan, conducted a routine traffic stop in the Nicosia district. During this operation, they stopped a vehicle driven by the 51-year-old man. Upon inspection, officers discovered approximately 90 grammes of suspected cannabis.
In a related operation, authorities also stopped a second vehicle operated by the 47-year-old suspect. A search of this vehicle revealed three knives. Following this, police executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence, where they seized a significant quantity of suspected cannabis weighing 2.32 kilograms, along with €10,800 in cash and additional items that are currently under examination.
Both suspects were brought before the Nicosia district court on Wednesday, where the judge ordered their remand in custody for a period of eight days to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
The police have not disclosed further details about the suspects or the circumstances surrounding their arrests, as the investigation is still in its early stages. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Cyprus to combat drug-related offenses and ensure public safety.
