The Palestinian Embassy has responded to Phileleftheros on Friday to criticise a recent report on Israeli military precision technology. The Embassy said the reportage raised questions that could not be ignored. “Why, given that such advanced technology exists, do the occupation forces demolish entire city blocks in the Gaza Strip in search of targets?” it asked. “Why does the slaughter of small children and civilians continue if this technology can see through walls?” The Embassy also asked whether the system had been deliberately configured to exclude the detection of small children, and asked why the piece had expressed no reaction to what it described as the obvious implications of the technology its author was promoting. “Because we have no illusions,” the Embassy said. “We know that Israeli occupation forces deliberately target and kill small children and civilians — something that was made clear in the most official way by the United Nations just days ago — and they will continue to do so regardless of technological advancement.” “Humanity and technology do not necessarily go hand in hand,” the Embassy concluded.
