**George Pantelides to Lead Hellenic Healthcare Group After Two Decades at Deloitte**
George Pantelides is set to transition from his role at Deloitte to become the chief executive of Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), effective January 1, 2027. After more than 20 years with Deloitte, where he currently serves as the chief strategy officer and leads the consulting division in Cyprus, Pantelides will bring his extensive experience in advisory services to the healthcare sector.
Pantelides has been a significant figure in the consulting landscape, providing strategic guidance to both local and international organizations. His expertise encompasses various areas, including mergers and acquisitions, business development, and organizational transformation. His deep involvement in major investment deals, particularly within the healthcare sector, positions him well for his new role at HHG.
HHG is a prominent private healthcare provider with operations in both Cyprus and Greece. The group has established a robust network of hospitals and diagnostic centers, serving over 1.4 million patients annually and employing more than 6,900 healthcare professionals. Notable facilities within HHG's network include Apollonion and Aretaeio hospitals in Nicosia, Cyprus, and several leading hospitals in Greece, such as Hygeia, Metropolitan Hospital, Mitera Hospital, and Metropolitan General.
In a significant development for HHG, Abu Dhabi-based PureHealth acquired a 60 percent stake in the group for €800 million in October 2025, valuing HHG at approximately €1.3 billion. CVC Capital Partners, an investment firm, retained a 35 percent stake, while Dimitris Spyridis holds the remaining 5 percent. This acquisition underscores the growing investment interest in the healthcare sector, particularly in regions like Cyprus and Greece.
In addition to his upcoming role at HHG, Pantelides will continue to serve as the chairman of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev), a position he has held since May 2025. This dual role reflects his commitment to both the healthcare industry and the broader business community in Cyprus.
As Pantelides prepares for this new chapter, the healthcare sector in Cyprus and Greece is poised for further growth and transformation under his leadership at HHG. His extensive background in strategic consulting and investment will likely play a crucial role in navigating the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the organization.
