An autopsy was carried out on the boy’s body today, while Nicosia CID’s investigation continues to fully establish the circumstances of the fall. Forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou carried out the autopsy, which confirmed that he died from a fall from a great height. The pathologists found that the boy died from a severe head injury and multiple injuries to his body and vital organs caused by the fall. Evidence collected during the autopsy will be sent for forensic examination. They found nothing indicating abuse, and blood samples were taken for further testing. The tragedy occurred at around 6:15pm last Saturday, when the boy’s father, mother and 18-month-old sister were also in the apartment. He fell from a window, and his father ran to find him lying in a pool of blood in the building’s car park. The boy was taken to hospital, where he died 35 minutes later, at 6:50pm, despite efforts by doctors in the Trauma Unit. Police arrested both parents to investigate possible negligence, while their daughter was placed temporarily in the care of Social Welfare Services. A Nicosia court remanded the parents for five days yesterday, and the investigation continues.
