The passenger had arrived in Cyprus from Switzerland on July 29. Customs said the watches were found after officers assessed relevant information. The passenger had not declared the items for payment of the applicable duties and taxes. As a result, customs imposed a fine and financial penalty totalling €4,584. Customs also collected the applicable duties and taxes owed, totalling €10,843.
