The Pentagon’s deputy head also noted that following the review, options for further action regarding the deployment of US troops in Europe will be presented. These potential steps, he said, will be guided, in particular, by strategic considerations and a clear understanding of geopolitical and military realities. Colby added that the US will continue to consult with its European allies on these issues. In June, Hegseth announced plans to conduct this review, which, as he noted at the time, would last six months.
