**Pera Orinis Forest Fire Under Control**
A forest fire that broke out on Monday morning in Pera Orinis, located in the Nicosia district, has been successfully brought under control. According to the forestry department, the fire ignited at approximately 7:18 AM in the area known as ‘Frangissa’ and was contained by 7:43 AM, preventing further spread.
The firefighting efforts involved a coordinated response from both the forestry department and the local fire brigade. A total of 12 firefighters from the forestry department, equipped with four fire engines, were deployed to combat the flames. Additionally, three firefighters from the fire brigade assisted with one fire engine. Civilians also played a crucial role in the firefighting operation, utilizing tractors to help manage the situation.
