The operations led to arrests for a range of offences, including a brawl, illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of property, assault causing actual bodily harm, disturbance, and illegal residence, police said in a statement. Officers stopped 824 vehicles overnight and checked 1,011 drivers and passengers. They also carried out 47 checks of business premises, which produced four citations. Traffic checks alone produced 452 citations for various road offences, 162 of them for speeding. Officers ran 258 alcohol tests, with 16 positive results, and one preliminary drug test also came back positive. Police impounded nine vehicles as part of the operations. Police said the crime prevention and enforcement operations continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks and immediate operational action, to protect citizens and safeguard public order.
