Acting on information about the trafficking and sale of methamphetamine, YKAN members spotted the 50-year-old and the 42-year-old travelling by car on the motorway toward Paphos on July 21, 2026, and stopping in a village area of Paphos. A 29-year-old later arrived in a separate car. The 50-year-old approached the 29-year-old driver and handed him an object he had taken from his pocket, where officers had earlier seen him placing money. The 50-year-old then took another object from the 29-year-old’s vehicle. After the three suspects left the scene in their vehicles, YKAN members stopped the 50-year-old and the 42-year-old in an area of the Limassol district and searched them. In the vehicle, they found four nylon bags containing crystal methamphetamine with a combined mixed weight of 145 grams, along with a smoking pipe showing traces of burnt crystal meth. The 50-year-old and the 42-year-old were arrested for offences committed in the act, and court arrest warrants were subsequently issued for both suspects, under which they were rearrested. Police searched for the 29-year-old but did not locate him, and a court warrant was issued against him. On July 22, 2026, the 50-year-old and the 42-year-old were brought before Limassol District Court, which ordered their remand in custody for seven days. Yesterday, members of YKAN, YDAP and the Paphos Crime Prevention Team, acting on information, stopped a car being driven by the wanted 29-year-old on a road in the Paphos district and arrested him under the court warrant. During a search, police found a quantity of crystal methamphetamine with a total mixed weight of approximately 5 grams. The 29-year-old was brought before Limassol District Court today, which ordered his remand in custody for five days. Police are investigating a case involving conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession of drugs, possession of drugs with intent to supply another person, drug supply, illegal drug use, and money laundering from illegal activities. YKAN Limassol and Paphos continue their investigations.
