The operations included organised patrols in key urban areas aimed at preventing serious criminal activity, maintaining public order and increasing the public’s sense of security. According to police, the arrests involved various offences, including illegal employment, operating as a private security guard without the required licence, and traffic-related violations. During the overnight operations, officers stopped 621 vehicles for checks and screened 952 occupants. In addition, 58 premises were inspected as part of efforts to tackle criminal activity, resulting in 14 reported offences. Separate traffic enforcement checks led to 392 complaints for various road offences and 14 ongoing traffic investigations. Eleven vehicles were also immobilised during the operations. Of the traffic violations recorded, 132 involved speeding, while 31 concerned driving under the influence of alcohol. Two cases of drug-impaired driving were also identified following preliminary roadside drug tests. In total, 213 breathalyser tests were carried out, along with six drug tests on drivers. Police said enforcement operations will continue daily with an increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action aimed at protecting the public and safeguarding order.
