An autopsy carried out on the infant did not determine the cause of death, according to police. Authorities said samples were taken during the post-mortem examination for histopathological and other laboratory tests, with results expected to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. Police are investigating a case of unnatural death and continue to take statements in order to establish how the incident unfolded. The baby boy had reportedly shown signs of illness in the days leading up to his death and was taken to Limassol General Hospital on Thursday night, where he died despite efforts by doctors. The funeral of the infant is scheduled to take place at 10:00am at Archangel Michael church in Limassol, with the parents requesting that attendees wear white clothing.
