The campaign was aimed at strengthening road safety and reinforcing correct, legal use of scooters. During checks carried out in all districts between August 7 and 9, police officers issued citations for violations of the relevant legislation, while also informing and guiding users on their obligations and the rules for safe travel. The checks resulted in a total of 526 citations, covering: 219 citations relating to the designated travel space for Personal Mobility Devices 116 citations for not wearing a protective helmet 86 citations for not using reflective markers 23 citations for not using lights 82 other violations of the legislation Police also confiscated 28 Personal Mobility Devices during the checks. This was the second traffic enforcement campaign in recent days. During an earlier round of nationwide checks between July 31 and August 2, police issued 516 citations in total, covering: 249 citations relating to the designated travel space for Personal Mobility Devices 103 citations for not wearing a protective helmet 89 citations for not using reflective markers 21 citations for not using lights 54 other violations of the legislation Police said the results of the campaign demonstrate the need for continuous awareness, responsibility and compliance with the legislation, adding that following traffic rules is not simply a legal obligation but a basic requirement for safe travel. Police are continuing daily traffic checks across the entire road network, with particular emphasis on compliance with traffic rules by all road users, aiming to prevent road collisions and strengthen road safety.
