Two weeks after the operation, the latest medical check-ups show a favourable recovery and there are no contraindications to making the trip. Since returning to the Vatican, Leo XIV has gradually resumed his activities, although he keeps to a schedule adapted to medical recommendations and sets aside time to rest. Doctor Luigi Carbone, responsible for reporting on his progress, has confirmed that he is in good health. The Holy Father has expressed his joy at returning to Latin America, a region with which he has a close personal bond.
