Russia-China trade turnover up 25% year-on-year in January-June to $135 bln According to Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia Zhou Liqun, the number of Chinese enterprises in Russia's Far East is growing, alongside their operating incomeMOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 25% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, reaching $135 billion, and the full-year figure could surpass the 2025 level, the press service of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) reported. "From January to June 2026, trade turnover between the two countries rose by 25% to $135 billion. Based on this figure, I expect that trade turnover for the full year of 2026 will exceed last year's figures," Zhou Liqun, Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia, was quoted as saying. According to him, the number of Chinese enterprises in Russia's Far East is growing, alongside their operating income. He also highlighted strong prospects for further expanding Russian-Chinese investment cooperation. "The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) has become a key platform for interaction between Chinese and Russian businesses. I am confident that our cooperation will continue to flourish, leading to even more joint projects," he added. The official emphasized that the EEF's off-site sessions help promote the event and raise its profile among Chinese business executives. He noted that since 2015, the forum has remained a vital venue for developing Russia's economic ties with the Asia-Pacific region and fostering cooperation with China. The Eastern Economic Forum will take place on September 1-4 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. This year’s main theme is "Developing the Far East for the Benefit of its People." The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Government.
