As tensions escalate between the United States and Iran, Russia has issued a warning regarding the potential for a broader regional conflict. The Russian Foreign Ministry has called for all involved parties to exercise restraint and return to diplomatic dialogue to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
The recent surge in hostilities began on July 7, when the US government announced a series of “powerful strikes” in response to accusations that Iran had attacked three tankers in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
