Russia’s Bryansk Automobile Plant develops armored tractor with machine gun turret According to the patent description, the 4x4 tractor truck is designed to protect against attacks from the air or groundMOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Specialists at the Bryansk Automobile Plant (BAZ, part of the Almaz-Antey Group) have developed a new armored tractor truck equipped with a turret for a machine gun, according to a patent reviewed by TASS. "The invention claimed concerns transport equipment and can be used as a tactically protected, high-mobility tractor designed to tow heavy-duty semi-trailers," the patent description states. According to the document, the 4x4 tractor is equipped with a fully armored cabin featuring a mounted machine gun turret to protect against attacks from the air or ground. The tractor truck, in order to reduce its thermal signature, is equipped with protective heat-shielding panels on the outer vertical surfaces of the cabin running boards, the steering system’s hydraulic oil tank cover, the batteries, the air filters, and the engine compartment walls. Each spark-arresting muffler is fitted with a set of heat shields on its outer surface. In addition, the tractor can be equipped with brackets for securing vegetation for camouflage and clamps for attaching a camouflage net.
