**Serbia Expresses Gratitude to Russia for Reliable Gas Supplies**
**Yekaterinburg, July 9, 2023** — Serbia's Minister without Portfolio, Nenad Popovic, expressed the country's appreciation for the reliable gas supplies received from Russia, highlighting their critical importance amid the current volatility in the global energy market. His remarks were made during the 16th Innoprom exhibition, where he spoke to TASS about the significance of these energy resources for Serbia.
Popovic emphasized that the stability of gas supplies from Russia is particularly vital in light of ongoing changes in the global market, which are both structural and price-related. "First and foremost, Serbia is thankful to Russia for reliable gas supplies. It is a very important energy source for Serbia, especially today," he stated.
The minister also underscored the favorable terms under which Serbia receives gas from Gazprom, noting that the country benefits from the lowest possible prices without incurring penalties related to fluctuations in supply. "This is a very good contract," Popovic remarked, affirming that the agreements in place are a testament to the strong diplomatic relations between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Popovic, these agreements are being effectively implemented, ensuring that Serbia continues to receive essential energy supplies in a reliable manner. The minister's comments reflect Serbia's strategic reliance on Russian gas, which plays a crucial role in the country's energy security.
As the global energy landscape continues to evolve, Serbia's relationship with Russia remains a focal point in its energy policy, with officials expressing gratitude for the stability and support provided by their Russian counterparts.
