**Title: Six Arrested and 416 Traffic Fines Issued in Overnight Police Operations**
In a comprehensive overnight operation, law enforcement officials across Cyprus arrested six individuals and issued 416 traffic fines as part of their ongoing efforts to maintain road safety and enforce traffic regulations. The operation, which involved multiple checkpoints and inspections, aimed to address various offenses, including drug possession, driving under the influence, and violations of residence laws.
During the operation, police stopped a total of 554 vehicles and conducted checks on 666 drivers and passengers. Additionally, officers inspected 48 premises, resulting in four citations for various infractions. The arrests made during this operation were linked to several offenses: alleged drug possession, drunkenness, disorderly conduct, traffic violations, and the presence of individuals living in the country without the necessary residence documentation.
The traffic fines issued included a significant number for speeding, with 91 drivers caught exceeding the legal speed limits. The police conducted 109 alcohol tests, of which 10 returned positive results, indicating instances of driving under the influence. Furthermore, two out of three roadside drug tests conducted during the operation also yielded positive outcomes.
