**Storms Gather, Heavy Rain Set to Hit Cyprus**
Cyprus is bracing for a significant change in weather as thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecasted to sweep across the island starting tomorrow. According to Michalis Mouskos, a representative from the Meteorological Office, the unstable weather conditions are expected to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms throughout Saturday, with showers likely continuing into the early evening.
The anticipated weather shift will also bring a notable drop in temperatures, with a decrease of approximately 9 degrees Celsius expected. Tomorrow's high is predicted to reach around 30 degrees Celsius, a stark contrast to the warmer temperatures that have characterized recent days.
While the cooler weather will provide a temporary respite, it is expected to be short-lived. Starting Sunday, temperatures are projected to rise again, returning to seasonal averages by Tuesday. By then, highs are expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius in Nicosia and 32 degrees Celsius in coastal cities such as Limassol and Larnaca.
In addition to the rain and thunderstorms, Mouskos noted that some isolated showers may persist over the Troodos mountain range into the following week, although the intensity and frequency of rainfall are expected to diminish.
Residents and visitors are advised to prepare for the impending weather changes, which may impact outdoor activities and travel plans. The Meteorological Office will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
