MUSIC Limassol, Marios Tokas Municipal Garden Theatre, 9pm. The long-awaited music-theatre production “Archangel of Crete,” marking 90 years since the birth of Nikos Xylouris, directed by Nikorestis Chaniotakis, traces the life and artistic journey of the great Cretan singer and lyra player. The Orchestra Lumiere chamber ensemble performs beloved film melodies through original arrangements by composer Kyriakos Kostas, accompanied by original interactive video art created by Andreas Christoforou specifically for this production. For three days, Kalavasos becomes a large open workshop of contemporary art, memory and collective creation, hosting the 12th Xarkis Festival. More than 25 artists from Cyprus and abroad engage with the local community, landscape and history through works, performances, screenings, workshops and tours, seeking new ways to read a place with deep historical and archaeological roots. Tonight’s film is “Who Killed Lady Winslee,” directed by Hiner Saleem. 90 minutes. Lady Winslee, an American writer, is found murdered on a small, isolated Turkish island in the Princes’ Islands. A distinctive meeting of contemporary graphic design with one of Cyprus’s most recognisable traditional arts, the exhibition “Stitched into the Landscape” by Andreani Panagidi and Vasilis Savvidis is presented in Pedoulas as part of the 2026 Cultural Decentralisation Programme. Runs until November 11. SHADOW THEATRE Nicosia, Axiothea Mansion, 7.30pm. A new adventure for the beloved hero of Greek shadow theatre, especially for young fans, presented by the 29th University of Cyprus Cultural Festival. In “Karagiozis and the Treasure of Cyprus,” Karagiozis is called on to solve a strange riddle. Shadow puppeteers: Charalambos Charalambous, Andreas Charalambous, Elena Charalambous.
