THEATRE Nicosia, School for the Blind Amphitheatre, 9pm. The International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama presents this year’s domestic production. Director Lea Maleni signs off on a new reading of Aeschylus’s masterpiece Seven Against Thebes, one of the most significant anti-war works of ancient Greek literature, produced by Theatrical Group Persona. The tour continues for the EThAL and Anyhow production bringing Molière’s timeless work “The Miser” to 1970s post-war Cyprus. Adapted into the Cypriot dialect and directed by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos, the cast includes Christopher Greco, Valentina Sofokleous, Giorgos Evagorou, Andreas Londou, Dimitra Hadjigianni, Maria Konstantinou, Stavriana Kadi and Achilleas Grammatikopoulos. Strovolos Municipality, as part of its “Culture in Every Neighbourhood” scheme, presents the Cypriot music concert “Songs in the Circle of Life and Time”. Leading singer Christos Sikkis, with his distinctive voice, joined by Anna Aristidou and the ANTAMA ensemble, will take audiences through tunes and songs that trace the island’s musical identity.
