European premiere of the audiovisual work “Sound of Shanghai” by composer Marios Ioannou Elia — a production that sets out to answer an unusual artistic question: how can an entire city be transformed into music. Visual Voices launches the Kartzin Colloquium 2026 — a new series of talks, workshops, and reading groups dedicated to socially engaged art — with two lectures exploring art’s relationship with social participation, public space, and democratic coexistence. The first lecture, “From Audience Participation to the Aesthetics of the Workshop and Assembly in 21st-Century Cypriot Art,” will be presented by Evi Tselika, associate professor of Art History and Theory at the University of Nicosia and co-director of the Celadon Center for Arts and Ecologies.
