**Three Arrested During Overnight Police Operations**
In a series of overnight preventive operations across Cyprus, law enforcement officials arrested three individuals for various offenses, including illegal residency and driving under the influence of alcohol. The police reported these developments on Thursday, detailing the outcomes of their extensive operations aimed at ensuring public safety and compliance with the law.
During the operations, police stopped a total of 597 vehicles and conducted checks on 777 individuals. The proactive measures were part of a broader initiative to address unlawful and antisocial behavior within the community. In addition to the arrests, officers performed 35 inspections at various premises, which led to three additional reports related to violations of the law.
Traffic enforcement was a significant focus of the operations, resulting in a total of 314 reports for various offenses. Among these, 89 were specifically for speeding violations. The police also opened 13 cases for further investigation based on the findings during the checks. To enhance road safety, eight vehicles were impounded as part of the enforcement actions.
In their efforts to combat driving under the influence, police conducted 115 alcohol tests, which identified nine violations. Additionally, six preliminary drug tests were administered to drivers, with all results returning negative, indicating no presence of illegal substances.
