**Three Children from Cyprus Honoured at Toyota Dream Car Art Contest**
In a remarkable achievement for Cyprus, three young artists have been recognized on the international stage at the 19th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. Georgia Evdokia Michael, Maria Petousi, and Savvas Sophocleous have been named among just 21 Best Finalists from around the globe, standing out from an impressive pool of approximately 260,000 entries submitted from 87 countries and regions.
To celebrate this significant accomplishment, Toyota Cyprus hosted a special ceremony on September 9, 2026, at their showroom in Nicosia. The event was an opportunity to honour the creativity and talent of these young finalists, who have each showcased their unique visions of what a dream car represents to them.
During the ceremony, the three children were presented with handcrafted award certificate shields, specially designed for the winners by Toyota’s Production Engineering Development Centre in Japan. This unique memento serves as a tangible recognition of their international distinction. In addition to the award shields, each finalist will receive a cash prize of US$3,000, earmarked for educational purposes, further supporting their future endeavors.
This year’s contest holds particular significance for Cyprus, as it marks a notable achievement for the nation in the realm of international art competitions. The presence of three finalists from Cyprus among the global elite highlights the artistic talent and potential of young Cypriots.
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is a global initiative aimed at inspiring children to express their visions of mobility and the future through art. Participants are encouraged to illustrate their dream cars, fostering creativity and imagination. For the 19th edition of the contest, national competitions were conducted across 87 countries, culminating in a global selection process that identified one Grand Prize Winner and seven Best Finalists in each of three age categories: up to 7 years old, 8 to 11 years old, and 12 to 15 years old. Additionally, special awards such as the ‘Let’s Change the Future of Cars’ Award and the ‘Waku-Doki’ Award were also presented.
