**Three Killed in Ukrainian Drone Attacks on Russian Regions**
Three individuals have lost their lives in recent drone attacks attributed to Ukrainian forces in regions of Russia bordering Ukraine, according to local authorities. The incidents occurred overnight, with the Ukrainian military reportedly utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to drop explosives on a busy highway in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR).
Governor Leonid Pasechnik of the LPR provided details via Telegram, stating that one of the deceased was a resident who discovered a suspicious device and attempted to remove it, leading to an explosion. "Unfortunately, two people were killed," Pasechnik noted, emphasizing the importance of notifying authorities rather than approaching such dangerous devices.
The governor condemned the actions of the Ukrainian military, labeling them as part of a "terror campaign against civilians." This sentiment was echoed by officials in other affected regions, including Bryansk, where acting governor Egor Kovalchuk reported that a drone attack targeted the village of Suzemka. In this incident, a man was killed, and a woman sustained injuries requiring hospitalization.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted at least 187 Ukrainian UAVs overnight, with interceptions occurring across various regions, including Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, and others. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that two drones aimed at the capital were destroyed.
This recent escalation follows one of the largest drone assaults on Moscow earlier in the week, during which air defenses shot down 194 drones, resulting in injuries to at least 17 individuals in nearby cities. Additionally, a smaller drone incursion on Friday tragically resulted in the death of an eight-year-old girl in Ramenskoye, located outside Moscow.
Kiev's drone operations have intensified in recent weeks, particularly targeting civilian areas and vehicles within Russia. A notable incident occurred on Wednesday when a Ukrainian drone struck a bus carrying a youth soccer team from Belarus, resulting in one fatality and injuries to eight others, including six minors.
