The RTD is warning of a fire risk from the Eura Mobil Xtura caravan truck (22.01.2024 – 02.06.2026), the Ligier Myli/JS50 quadricycle (10.2023 – 06.2026) and the Nissan Qashqai passenger car (04.05.2021 – 17.10.2024). It is also warning of an injury risk from the Skoda Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Octavia, Superb, Citigo, Kodiaq and Roomster passenger cars (23.05.2016 – 07.12.2017), the Honda Odyssey (01.04.2017 – 30.04.2022), Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles (18.01.2019 – 25.08.2021), the Renault Austral (23.03.2023 – 23.01.2025), the BMW Series 1 (E82, E88) (08.05.2007 – 02.10.2013), the Dacia Duster III and Bigster (09.01.2026 – 25.02.2026), and the BMW Series 1 (E81, E82, E87, E88) and Series 3 (E90, E91, E92, E93) (01.2011 – 06.2015), as well as the Ford Ranger truck (04.03.2025 – 12.02.2026) and the Mercedes-Benz Unimog 405 and Unimog 437 trucks (31.10.2025 – 18.12.2025). The department is also warning of an injury risk relating to the Yokohama 126S 385/55R22.5 158L tyre (01.01.2023 – 01.10.2025) and the Aguti ISOFIX fixing system (29.08.2017 – 27.04.2026). The department is calling on manufacturers, agents, distributors, importers and sellers, including those operating online or remotely, who may have placed or be placing such products on the market of the Republic of Cyprus, to inform the Road Transport Department accordingly. It notes that, should these products be available in the Republic of Cyprus, the above economic operators are required to take all necessary measures for their recall, as provided for under the relevant legislation. The department is also calling on consumers who own the above vehicles to contact the manufacturer, agent or distributor for guidance. Whether a consumer owns one of the above vehicles is also examined on the basis of the vehicle’s registration certificate (“kotsani”) and the details it contains, such as the manufacturing range and model type or number. Regarding components, where considered appropriate, the RTD is calling on consumers to stop using them and to return them immediately to the point of purchase, where possible, informing the seller accordingly. Where a manufacturer, agent, distributor, importer or seller refuses to meet these consumer rights, consumers are invited to submit a written complaint to the Consumer Protection Service via www.consumer.gov.cy.
