Trump said he had discussed the idea with Google CEO Sundar Pichai, whom he described as “a great guy”, but claimed the tech executive was reluctant to go along with the proposal. Trump then joked about how European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, might react to such a change.
