The arrests were carried out under court warrants secured after police evaluated evidence gathered during the investigation. The two suspects are due to appear before a court today for a remand order. Investigations continue. The case follows a police statement issued on July 21, in which police said they were investigating, with particular seriousness, footage that appeared to have been livestreamed on a social media platform and showed people urging a minor with a disability into acts that violated his dignity. Police said at the time that members of the Cyber Crime Subdivision had been assessing available digital and other evidence and working to identify those appearing in, or potentially involved in, the footage. Police also said the case’s nature and the involvement of a minor meant they were asking the public not to further share or reproduce the material. According to philenews sources, a complaint and several reports over the incident had been filed with police. The footage was reported to have been recorded during a live discussion on TikTok, in which people, whose ages were also under investigation, are seen urging the child to expose himself while mocking him.
