The Fire Service said it received the call at 16:08, and the Paphos Fire Station responded with two fire engines. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 16:45. The fire and heat caused extensive damage to part of the house’s contents, and also affected the wall paint. Two people got out of the house before the Fire Service arrived and were taken by ambulance as a precaution to the accident and emergency department of Paphos General Hospital, mainly due to smoke inhalation and minor burns. The cause of the fire will be investigated in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
