**Two Men Arrested in Ayia Napa for Possession of Laughing Gas Capsules**
Ayia Napa, Cyprus – Two men were apprehended by the Mobile Immediate Action Unit (MMAD) on Friday night after police discovered a significant quantity of nitrous oxide capsules, commonly referred to as laughing gas, during a routine vehicle inspection.
The incident occurred when officers conducted preventive checks in the popular tourist area of Ayia Napa. They stopped a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old man, who had a 29-year-old passenger. During the search of the car, police uncovered 300 unused nitrous oxide capsules, along with 12 inhalation devices and several balloons, which are often associated with the consumption of the gas.
Following the discovery, both individuals were arrested at the scene. They were subsequently charged in writing and later released. The Ayia Napa Police Station is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the possession of the laughing gas capsules.
