The Fire Service responded at 3:26 pm with a crewed fire engine and extinguished the blaze. One vehicle suffered damage to its bumper, grille and number plate, while the second vehicle’s number plate was affected. The duty officer investigated the cause of the fire but reached no firm conclusions. According to the Fire Service, the possibility that the fire was caused by a discarded cigarette butt cannot be ruled out.
