**UCY MBA Programme Successfully Hosts Erasmus+ BIP on Business Ethics**
The University of Cyprus (UCY) has successfully conducted a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) under the Erasmus+ initiative, focusing on “Ethical Considerations in Business.” This event took place from June 8 to June 12, 2026, and gathered 40 MBA students from four European countries, marking a significant step in promoting international collaboration in higher education.
Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, the BIP was designed to enhance the educational experience of students by addressing contemporary issues in business ethics and sustainability. Participants included 10 students from Finland, 10 from Croatia, four from Spain, and 16 from Cyprus, alongside three accompanying staff members from the partner universities.
The programme featured a comprehensive curriculum that included lectures and workshops on various critical topics. Students engaged in discussions surrounding corporate governance, ethics in artificial intelligence, data protection and privacy, environmental and climate risks, workplace diversity, and ethical leadership. These sessions provided participants with a robust understanding of the ethical dilemmas faced by businesses today.
An integral part of the BIP was the series of educational visits to prominent organizations in Cyprus. Participants visited The Carlsberg Brewery Cyprus and Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus, where they gained valuable insights into best practices in corporate responsibility and sustainability. These visits allowed students to observe real-world applications of the ethical principles discussed in their coursework.
In addition to the academic components, the programme included a variety of cultural activities aimed at enriching the participants’ experience of Cyprus. Students explored notable destinations such as Protaras, the Blue Lagoon, the Kourion Archaeological Site, and the Limassol seafront. These excursions provided an opportunity for international participants to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of Cyprus, fostering a deeper appreciation for the island's heritage and hospitality.
The Erasmus+ BIP initiative is designed to promote the internationalization of higher education by facilitating cooperation among European universities. It aims to enhance intercultural communication and equip students with essential skills for the global business environment. The University of Cyprus MBA Programme is committed to this vision, strategically investing in internationalization to provide students with high-quality academic experiences that bridge theoretical knowledge and practical business challenges.
The successful execution of the BIP on “Ethical Considerations in Business” underscores UCY’s role in educating future leaders who are equipped to navigate the complexities of ethical decision-making in the business world. As the programme continues to evolve, it remains focused on fostering an environment where students can develop the necessary skills to address the ethical challenges that arise in today’s dynamic global landscape.
Overall, the initiative not only enhances the academic experience for students but also strengthens ties between universities across Europe, promoting a collaborative approach to education that is increasingly vital in an interconnected world.
