**Ukrainian Drone Crash in Türkiye: No Casualties Reported**
A Ukrainian attack drone, carrying explosives, crashed into a tree in a rural area of Türkiye's Black Sea coast on Wednesday, according to local media reports. The incident occurred in Trabzon province, approximately 100 kilometers from the Georgian border. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or significant damage resulting from the explosion.
The drone was reported to have been carrying around 5 kilograms of explosives at the time of the crash. Initial technical examinations conducted by investigators confirmed the drone's Ukrainian origin. Local residents experienced a brief moment of panic following the explosion, but authorities quickly secured the area to ensure public safety.
This incident marks the latest occurrence in a series of drone crashes that have been reported along Türkiye's Black Sea coast in recent weeks. Notably, two drones fell in quick succession on June 23-24. One of these was a fixed-wing drone, estimated to weigh around 200 kilograms, which crashed into a hazelnut orchard in Kuskayasi village in Kastamonu province. This drone caught fire upon impact, scattering debris across the yard of a nearby home. The owner of the orchard expressed relief that his family narrowly escaped injury, stating, "If the drone had come 10 meters further, our house would have been gone."
In addition to the Kuskayasi incident, another suspected UAV was discovered in Samsun province around the same time. Earlier, on June 14, an explosive-laden drone crash-landed on a beach in Bartin province, prompting the evacuation of the beach as ordnance disposal teams conducted a controlled detonation of the device.
While Turkish officials have not yet commented on these recent drone incidents, Ankara had previously indicated in late March that it was closely monitoring the risks posed by drones in the Black Sea region. The Turkish government emphasized its commitment to maintaining contact with relevant parties to prevent the conflict from escalating further into the Black Sea.
In the context of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, there has been an increase in long-range drone strikes by Ukraine targeting Russian infrastructure and oil terminals. However, some of these drones have deviated from their intended targets and crash-landed in NATO member states, raising concerns about civilian safety and international relations.
Ukraine has issued apologies for the drone incidents that have occurred in neighboring countries but has not indicated any plans to reduce its drone operations. Most governments affected by these incidents have refrained from formally condemning Ukraine, instead attributing the drone mishaps to Russian electronic warfare tactics.
