**UNIC Launches New Pharmacy Master’s Program for International Students**
The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has announced the launch of a new master’s program in pharmacy, designed specifically for international students. This English-taught program will commence in the upcoming academic year at the university's main campus in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Professor Christos Petrou, head of the Department of Health Sciences, emphasized the significance of this new offering. He stated, “The availability of the MPharm in English gives more prospective students the opportunity to study pharmacy in Cyprus without compromising on the language of instruction or the quality of their education.” This initiative aims to attract both local and international students, providing a viable alternative for those who may have considered pursuing their studies abroad.
The five-year Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) program will be available in both English and Greek, catering to a diverse student body. The curriculum includes practical training in eight specialized pharmacy laboratories, which are designed to equip students with essential skills in various areas such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical technology, and drug research. This hands-on approach is intended to enhance the educational experience and prepare graduates for careers in the pharmaceutical field.
The university is particularly focused on welcoming international students, as well as offering new opportunities for Cypriots who might have previously thought about studying overseas. The program also targets international students already residing in Cyprus, looking for an English-speaking educational environment within Europe.
