Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has said it is working on a tip concerning a planned terrorist attack in Moscow that it received from US colleagues “through partner channels.”
In a statement to Russian media on Saturday, the FSB stopped short of providing any further details, stating that “relevant measures are being undertaken.”
Earlier in the day, the US Embassy in Moscow issued a security alert, citing a “credible threat of a mass casualty event TODAY October 31, at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve in Moscow.”
“The U.S. government is coordinating with appropriate Russian authorities on a response,” American diplomats added.
The embassy advised US nationals to avoid the area around the palace museum, as well as crowded locations in general, while monitoring “local media for any further information.”
