**Welfare Benefit Increases to be Paid in Q4 2026**
The Deputy Welfare Ministry of Cyprus has announced that welfare benefit increases will be retroactively paid to beneficiaries in the last quarter of 2026. This decision follows the implementation of a cabinet decision made on July 2, which aims to enhance social inclusion and support independent living for individuals with disabilities, as well as adjustments to the minimum guaranteed income (EEE) and other social benefits.
According to the ministry, beneficiaries will not need to take any action to receive these increases. The welfare benefit management service confirmed that the payment for the EEE for August is scheduled for distribution on Friday, while the monthly care allowance and the announced increases will be processed on August 28. Payments will be directly deposited into the beneficiaries' bank accounts, with the increases appearing as a separate line item in their statements.
The increases will benefit individuals with disabilities who registered by July 31. Specifically, those under 18 years of age will receive an additional €87, bringing their total disability benefit to €455. For individuals aged 18 to 65, and those over 65, the increase will amount to €37, resulting in a total benefit of €405. Additionally, for home care recipients, a further amount equal to 10% of the approved benefit for August will be added. The transport benefit will also see an increase, reaching a total of €100 regardless of previous payments.
The Deputy Ministry emphasized the importance of beneficiaries ensuring that their bank and contact details are current to avoid any delays in receiving their payments.
