The civil war in Sudan began in April 2023 following a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.More from Sudan country on the BBC:Hospitals deliberately targeted by Sudan's RSF fighters, BBC findsPublished4 days agoSudan army drones hit mourners and fuel market killing more than 300 people, sources sayPublished6 days agoSudan's healthcare system on brink of collapse after cuts, medical charity warnsPublished8 SeptemberGo to BBCAfrica.com, external for more news from the African continent.Follow us on Twitter @BBCAfrica, external, on Facebook at BBC Africa, external or on Instagram at bbcafrica, externalRelated topicsAfricaSudanBBC Africa podcastsFocus on AfricaThis Is Africa
