Several hundred women’s rights activists and supporters gathered outside France’s Justice Ministry in Paris as lawmakers began examining a proposed comprehensive law on sexual violence. Placards at the demonstration included messages calling for greater protection for children and an end to sexual violence. The rally also drew political figures, including presidential candidates Marine Tondelier and Raphaël Glucksmann. Organisers say the proposed law should cover prevention, victim support, justice and follow-up for both victims and perpetrators.
