**XM Group Funding Four Major Projects in Fire-Affected Limassol Communities**
In a significant move to aid recovery efforts in Limassol following the devastating wildfires of 2025, XM Group has announced a €5 million contribution towards the revitalization of affected communities. The funding will support the development of four major infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing community engagement and local tourism.
**Vouni Community Park**
One of the key projects is the creation of a community park in the village of Vouni. This park will be strategically connected to the historic Venetian water reservoir monument, which will serve as its entrance. The design of the park focuses on showcasing the area's rich heritage while providing a space for relaxation and community activities.
The ground level will feature comfortable seating areas shaded by a vine-covered pergola and tall plane trees, making it an ideal spot for lectures, presentations, and other community events. Visitors will have access to a second level that will house a café, and a third level designed for recreation and exercise, including a high climbing wall that links the first and third levels. This park is anticipated to become a focal point for both local residents and international visitors.
The management and operation of the Vouni Community Park will be overseen by the Vouni Community Council.
**Agios Amvrosios Football Pitch and Venue**
In Agios Amvrosios, XM Group will fund the construction of a modern 11-a-side football pitch, complete with supporting infrastructure designed to foster community spirit through sports. The pitch will feature artificial turf, metal mesh fencing, and clusters of tall trees to provide wind protection.
This sports complex will also include a refreshment kiosk, fully-equipped changing rooms, and sanitary facilities, making it suitable for a variety of sporting, social, and cultural events. The venue is expected to attract visitors not only from Agios Amvrosios but also from neighboring communities and other areas of Cyprus. The Agios Amvrosios Community Council will be responsible for the operation and management of this facility.
**Agios Therapon Multi-Purpose Open Space**
Another project funded by XM Group is a multi-purpose community venue in Agios Therapon. This facility will be designed to host a range of cultural, recreational, educational, and sporting events. The building will be harmoniously integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, promoting community engagement and cultural activities.
The venue will be versatile enough to accommodate various social functions, including wedding receptions and programs targeted at children and the elderly. The Agios Therapon Community Council will manage the operation of this community center.
**Souni-Zanatzia Multi-Purpose Open Space**
The final project involves the development of a multi-purpose public open space in Souni-Zanatzia. This facility will cater to individuals of all ages, providing opportunities for relaxation, recreation, and exercise. The space will be designed to host cultural, social, and sporting activities, featuring a modern and safe children’s playground along with a refreshment area.
Incorporating walking paths and ensuring easy access for all visitors, this community park will enhance the natural setting of Souni-Zanatzia. The Souni-Zanatzia Community Council will oversee the operation and management of this new public space.
**Project Timeline and Impact**
All four community projects are expected to be completed within 18 months, contingent upon securing the necessary planning and regulatory approvals. Once completed, these initiatives will breathe new life into the Limassol communities that suffered greatly from the wildfires, fostering a sense of community and enhancing local infrastructure.
XM Group's commitment to funding these projects reflects a broader effort to support recovery and revitalization in areas impacted by natural disasters, ensuring that affected communities can rebuild and thrive in the aftermath of adversity.
