**11 Killed in Avalanche During Security Forces Training in Russia**
In a tragic incident on Sunday evening, an avalanche struck a temporary training camp in the Bezengi Gorge of Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria region, resulting in the deaths of eleven individuals. The regional Emergencies Ministry has confirmed that six additional people remain unaccounted for following the disaster, which occurred during a training exercise for security agency personnel.

The Emergencies Ministry reported that, in addition to the eleven fatalities, six individuals sustained injuries and have been hospitalized. Remarkably, ten members of the group managed to descend from the site without assistance. Rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts hampered by the challenging mountain terrain and the risk of additional avalanches.
In response to the incident, 56 rescue personnel have been deployed to assist in the search and recovery efforts. The operation has also involved the use of rescue aircraft, contingent on weather conditions permitting safe aerial operations.
Yakovenko emphasized that all participants and instructors involved in the training exercise possessed the necessary qualifications, and he characterized the training under the auspices of the Russian Mountaineering Federation as standard practice for security agency personnel.
