The case began after a 34-year-old man reported that his motorcycle had been stolen on the afternoon of June 25 from the parking area of his residence in Limassol. Two electric tools were also taken from the same location. Police said that shortly after 1pm on Thursday, officers from the Limassol CID, acting on information, located the stolen motorcycle in a parking area at an apartment building in the city. Two electric tools matching the description of the stolen items were also found inside a car parked nearby. The 22-year-old owner of the vehicle was identified, and searches were carried out in his presence at both the car and his residence in Limassol. Officers said they found various items, including another motorcycle without registration plates and with its identifying features removed. The suspect did not provide satisfactory explanations for the possession of the items, police said, and was initially arrested for the offence of unlawful possession of property. Further evidence linked him to the theft of the 34-year-old’s motorcycle, leading to the issuance of a court warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently detained and remains in custody. The Limassol CID is continuing its investigations.
