**31-Year-Old Syrian National Arrested in Xylofagou Fight Investigation**

A 31-year-old Syrian national was apprehended on Saturday in connection with a violent altercation that took place in Xylofagou last Wednesday. This arrest marks the sixth individual taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

The suspect was located by police officers and subsequently appeared before the Famagusta district court, where a four-day detention order was issued. This order allows investigators additional time to continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fight.

The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively pursuing the case, with efforts ongoing to locate additional suspects. According to police reports, two other men, aged 26 and 24, were also arrested on July 15 as part of the investigation. Authorities are currently searching for three more individuals linked to the incident, in addition to another suspect whose personal details were released to the public last Friday.

Prior to the latest arrest, three other suspects had been detained earlier in the month. A 27-year-old man was taken into custody on Thursday, while a 30-year-old and a 20-year-old were arrested on the preceding Monday.

While police have not disclosed specific details regarding the nature of the fight or the allegations against those arrested, local sources indicate that the altercation may involve two rival Syrian gangs engaged in disputes over financial matters. Xylofagou mukhtar Giorgos Ioulianos previously commented on the situation, highlighting the tensions that have arisen within the community.

The investigation remains a priority for the Famagusta CID, with officers diligently working to gather further evidence and apprehend any remaining suspects involved in the incident. As the case develops, authorities are expected to provide updates to the public regarding the ongoing inquiries and any additional arrests that may occur.
