Both the victim and the alleged attacker are from Sri Lanka. Police said the 33-year-old was found injured on a road in the Aradippou area at about 12:50 am. Officers attended the scene and an ambulance took him to Larnaca General Hospital. Medical examinations found wounds to his body and hands that are believed to have been caused by a sharp object. He was later transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where his condition is described as serious. According to information obtained by philenews, the man underwent surgery and is fighting for his life. He suffered a large number of stab wounds, one of which appears to have struck a lung. Evidence under investigation indicates that the 33-year-old was attacked by the 21-year-old, police said. Officers later found the suspect and arrested him under a court warrant for questioning. According to philenews information, the two men are flatmates and work together at a dry-cleaning business. Before the attack, they are believed to have been in the village of Livadia, where they drank alcohol. They later returned to their home in Aradippou, where an argument began outside. The dispute continued inside the home and escalated when the suspect allegedly took two kitchen knives and stabbed the victim twice in the chest, three times in the left arm, once in the abdomen and once in the right palm. The suspect appeared before Larnaca District Court, which remanded him in custody for eight days. Aradippou police station is investigating the case.
