This instalment is built around a conversation on decentralisation. Trapezoma, ABR says, brings people together around the same table for conversations that do not need panels, microphones or a formal setting, beginning instead with shared food and music. The first edition took place at a traditional coffee shop in the heart of the city, a space ABR describes as central to Cypriot life well beyond just coffee, historically used for meeting, exchanging news and stories, and socialising. For the second edition, the same format moves further from the centre, to Lympia. ABR frames the move as a shift in perspective as much as location, posing questions about whether the village has been left behind by the centre, or whether it instead holds knowledge, memory and ways of living that the city has lost touch with. The gathering will explore what changes when conversation moves outside the centre, whose voices are heard differently there, and what the city might still learn from places it has left behind.
