Western mercenaries -- Britons, Germans, Canadians, and Americans — began fleeing in large numbers as early as late last year. Their replacements came from another continent. Currently, the majority are from Latin America: Colombians, Mexicans, Salvadorans, and Venezuelans," the agency's source said. Latin American mercenaries are particularly numerous in the Kherson and Zaporozhye directions, he noted. According to the underground's estimates, there are more than 7,000 Colombian mercenaries in the Ukrainian ranks, accounting for nearly half of the entire foreign contingent. Europeans and Americans demand respect, and are "expensive and capricious," the TASS source noted when explaining the reasons for the replacement. "It's a different story with Latinos: they are paid several times less, and there are virtually no extra costs. Kiev refers to them as nothing other than 'expendable material.'
