**Alphamega Workshop to Teach Kids the Value of Healthy Nutrition and Cooking Skills**
ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets is set to host a Nutrition and Cooking Workshop aimed at children aged eight to 14 as part of its “Child, Nutrition & Health” Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and will take place at Intercollege, located on the main campus of the University of Nicosia.
The workshop will be divided into two sessions to accommodate participants from different regions. Group A, consisting of children from Nicosia and Larnaca, will run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, while Group B, for children from Limassol, Paphos, and Paralimni, will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Under the guidance of Chef Christina Christofi, who serves as the Brand Ambassador for ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets, participants will have the opportunity to don aprons and take on the role of aspiring chefs. The workshop aims to teach children how to prepare healthy and creative recipes, demonstrating that nutritious food can be both enjoyable and fun to make.
Before diving into the kitchen, attendees will be introduced to the fundamentals of healthy eating by members of the Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association. This segment will feature interactive activities and games designed to help children understand the nutritional value of various foods and foster healthy eating habits from an early age.
After the educational introduction, the children will move to the kitchen where they will engage in hands-on cooking experiences. Guided by Chef Christofi and her team, participants will learn basic cooking techniques and work collaboratively to create their own healthy meals. This practical approach not only enhances their culinary skills but also promotes teamwork and creativity, encouraging them to spend their free time constructively and away from screens.
At the conclusion of the workshop, all participants will receive a Certificate of Participation as a token of their involvement, along with gifts from ALPHAMEGA Hypermarkets.
The Nutrition and Cooking Workshop is organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association and is supported by the Culinary Arts Programmes at Intercollege. Participation in the workshop is free of charge, but parents must register their children by 12 PM on July 17, 2026, through an online registration form available on the ALPHAMEGA CSR website.
Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, spaces are limited to ensure each child can participate fully. Each group will accommodate a maximum of 22 children. If the number of applications exceeds available spots, participants will be selected through an electronic draw to ensure fairness. Parents of selected children will be contacted directly with further details regarding participation.

By engaging children in both nutrition education and cooking skills, the workshop seeks to instill lasting healthy habits that can benefit them throughout their lives.
